it happens every time i shift into 3rd gear warm or cold. also its only during low rpm, the reason why is because i baby the car. i hardly ever drive it past 4000 rpm. at lunch i will rip it and see if it does the same thing. i'll let you guys know in a few hours.

 

I sounds like the clutch is going out if it does it when it is warm as well.

See if it "slips" and loses power in higher rpms when you do a hard 1-2-3-4 to redline. If so the clutch is going most likely. If it feels like it is going to crunch from 2-3rd or 4th-3rd then thats a different story then being "tough" to get in gear.

If almost a crunch then RussellM is probably right about the TSB

Oh and not shifting past 4k why did you get a boosted car then? It doesnt even make boost until after....Just funny having an evo and not using it power...

 

Well does the TSB apply to those out of warranty? I bought mine in 03 and i seriously remember it being 3 yr 36000miles, imma check with a mitsu dealer. As far as driving it hard, i did when i first had it. but i dont anymore or at lease hardly ever. I can't remember the last time i was on it that hard because i hardly drive the car. For 2007 i drove the car i think 1500 miles
