TRE 3.73 or Something like it Help.

I recently purchased a trans from a local person under the impression it was a Stage II TRE Rebuild with HKS 4.11 Final Drive.

What I found out is that it is the TRE 3.73 final drive not the HKS 4.11.

I got a great price on the deal and I had AndrewTech tear it apart to inspect, everything turned out great with it during inspection, they told me it was not stock final drive, but I didn't ask them to determine the final drive ratio, until now I didn't expect it to be different then advertised.

So I'm looking for some info from folks that are using or have used this in their Evo.

Thanks.

I haven't used these but...

The TRE site has specs on how it affects your MPH with that gearing. Basically you will have super long gears with 3.73's.

SPEED @ RPM = 7500

4.53 oem final drive

4.11 HKS final drive

3.73 TRE final drive

1st = 40 - 47 - 50mph

2nd = 64 -70 - 77mph

3rd= 89 - 97 - 106mph

4th = 122 - 132 - 145mph

5th = 174 - 190 - 210mph

And if you already knew this, then oh well free bump lol

thanks

I'm anxious to hear how gear changes have affected stock turbo or upgrades turbo's. I think even on stock turbo, it would be kicka$$. Power band would be quite fat, maybe a little laggy at first, but I think there would be much to gain. Better 0-60? I would hope so, and expect so.

0-160 takes quite a while on stock gearing. Going up to almost 140 in 4th gear, instead of only 125 should make it easier

3.73 on stock would really suck, it doesn't have the HP to pull thru the really long gearing and the car would feel slow, real slow.

I have a 37R atm - It will be fully maxed out on this build up, but I still think the 3.73 are to long, where the 4.11 would be ideal/perfect for 750whp.

Are you keen to swap your 3.73 with a 4.111? I'm in New Zealand so the shipping would be a bit, I don't want to send money either way though, we'd just pay for shipping each other's gear

I only kept them because I was time dependent during the build and couldn't have time sending it out for the switch.
