I've narrowed down my choice to the Hypertune or the HKS kansai..

thing is...what attracts me to the hypertune is the possibility of retaining the IAC..

But I am looking for overall power...so I figure the HKS may be the one

Remember 11secEVO7, the Kansai will not fit with ABS. If you use the stock throttle body on the Kansai you will retain the stock IAC too.

that's a huge selling point for me personally since I'm building my DD and don't foresee ever making it a true race car.

Thanks for this info David..
I'm a little worried about the ABS removal though. Seems like I shouldn't be bothering about the IAC if I'm gonna remove the ABS..

cause I'm just going further into the realm of weekend warrior ONLY

FWIW, people on this board have already done testing like this (and I'm willing to bet they understand the math behind intake manifold design). Here's one example of such data:

^^ Not really p4wned. He only tested one intake manifold back in the day. It was the same one that didn't make power in the recent test. And he stopped after that.

In the new test he tried 3-4 others and they all made top end power while sacrificing low end.

Objective data from DB to let us all decide without his opinion - what a tool...

tabio, I was that post the day it was made, I just ignored the ignorance, it was easier than responding to it.
