Help! Need tranny rebuild opinions

So, after 16,000 miles I'm getting some issues with the timing rings in the tranny. I went to the dealer and was turned down for warranty, yes, I've got some little mods, but if you don't have mods Mitsu lady of justice starts judgement on warranty work at 50/50 with no mods. What happened to innocent till proven guilty? Well that's enough about that.

So I am going to get my tranny pulled through BRE Motorsports and have it sent to Buschur or Shepard. I guess if any of you guys who have had work done by any of these two companies I would like to hear some feedback and experiences. Also, if there are other items that I should get taken care of or upgrade while the tranny is out, some input would be good.

i just sent my tranny off to buschur.(time to play the waiting game) i am getting the bushwacker done to mine.

i hope who ever is sending this off isn't going to rip you off for shipping. it should only cost you 80-90 something dollars shipped ground.

i went to fedex got their 24x24x24 box which cost me 10 bucks. i cut it down to 14x24x24 so it isn't as tall. bought some peanuts from office depo that ran me 25 bucks for the big *** bag. made sure the tranny was drained(even tipped it on it's side in a 5 gal bucket and let it drain out where the axle goes) i laid down some old shirts then a layer of peanuts, set the tranny in the box. pack in some more peanuts then i taped up the box really good. went to fedex the package weight was 130lbs. came out to 80 something. i put insurance on it which was like 12 bucks. and now i have to wait for it to get their and have the great people at buschur work their magic. they are going to call me if their is anything else wrong with my tranny and once it is done.

can't wait, i have only heard good things about their bushwacker tranny builds. i have heard that they shift like butter.

good luck to you on your tranny and and who ever you pick to do it. they are both good companys.

You can't go wrong with sheptrans or buschwacker.

I'm thinking about doing the samething. I would like to know if it is worth getting the evo VIII 4th gear and paying extra for the cryo treating and micro polishing?

What is the top 4th gear MPH difference between the Evo VIII and Evo IX up to 8000 rpms?
