What was the original problem from Al's video of you and Pete that night?
No injector clips so the injectors poped out and was leaning out the car out , lucky the problem was found in time lucky I had A/F meter and saw it wasn't right , the throttle body had some minor issues also like the spring breaking and leaking a little, a few vacum lines poped off , nothing major.

Oftentimes it's the little things that get overlooked.

When one considers that the rebuild cost is about the same as a new one, suddenly they don't appear to be such a good option.

The Tilton, which I don't think is what Ted B was referring to, is failry inexpensive to have rebuilt. It actually comes with one new floater plate, so when the clutch starts to wear you get basically one rebuild for free. I have one in my RS and it has held up exceptionally. Over a year on it, lots of passes, dyno runs and street use. When we had the car apart we checked the clutch and all was fine.

Peter also has the Tilton, he drives his daily and has had on problems with it. Probably close to 10,000 miles now, right Peter? Correct me if I am wrong.

Dave is right I also had my Tilton for 6 k no problems....Just had it rebuilt though because some a****** decided to ride the clutch on a ramp when I was shipping the car...if it was not for that I would be still driving it now.

The Carbonetics is the one to which I was referring (with the outrageous rebuild price), so I hope I didn't confuse anyone. The Tilton is reasonable to rebuild, and will cost a heck of a lot less to use in the long run.

You sir are totally wrong

You went through 3 as you obviously were abusive on the clutch

We have customers who have thousands of miles on the Tilton carbon with no problems

Just to note also

The Tilton should last a lifetime as it comes with one second disk to use when the first is worn and then when you wear that one out you sent it back to Tilton and they reshim it for you with two more shims for like $200

It PAINS me to see people trashing this fine product and saying the clutch is no good when in reality it was probably a bad install

On a tilton clutch the clutch stop is critical or you will bend the spring

I wouldn't change it neither, even is it did last only 2800 miles on my car for some weird reason.

good to hear that a lot of people are having the Tilton C/C last for a good amount of time. I'm having BR install one next week and its still hard to swallow the $4k price tag...but knowing it should last a while makes me a little more at ease.

Where i told Steve was to stop driving the car is because it was slipping bad. If were to keep driving it that way it would wear allot more and cost more to rebuild. I still believe that if you have allot of stop and go traffic that the Tilton would be a bad decision to use. If you are out in the country that yes go for it.
