You have to loosen the bolts holding the pressure plate through the small access hold in the bottom - you have to spin the plate around and do one at a time

yeah i have done 5 clutches and never actually had one be fused unless of course the clutch material blows apart into 1.5million pieces lol... But just get a buddy up top and someone on the bottom and hold the flat part of the clip in and operate the rod... i actually just did one today hehe...

i got the tranny off by taking the bolts off the pressure plate through the access hole. then to get the pressure plate off me and a buddy screwed around with a screw driver and a hook and poped the rings off the pressure plate that released it from the through out bearing

since its apart u can just take a screw driver to the ring on the inside of the pressure plate. onces its ripped off then it no longer holds the throw out bearing... If using that method just make sure u dont want to re use the pressure plate

do you mean like twist the screwdriver cuz that doesnt work.... I tried even a pry bar to twist since its longer and gives me better leverage and it still wont come off!!

You have to do it like Big Al said. I had to do the same thing. I tried everything to pry it off but it never came loose. Good luck.

well if you can take the snap ring off the tob it will come right off its hard to do bc its inside the pressure plate... the last one i did thatwas fused resulted in cutting the wedge collar off and it fell right out...
i would only reccomend this if you are replacing your clutch not rebuilding bc you will have to find another wedge collar and there hard to come by

When i pulled my motor out i couldnt release the throw out bearing (Exedy Twin HD) from underneath like your suppose to i tried for over 2 hours so i did some research and found this is normal on the exedy if the clutch was installed incorrectly so i did what big al said and i got the tranny off and now the pressure plate is stuck OR broken from improper installment but i HAVE to reuse the pressure plate how do i get it off?
