Hey!

Yeah still going strong, not had too much time to drive it this year but have been on one trackday and covered some street. It's a pure monster when it comes to driveability.

Went streetracing yesterday and had a missfire that cracked my intake manifold

I am still unsure of the quality of this unit. 2.6 is HUGE, IDK how it can be practical in terms of safety. From what I know, Brian Crower stuff is outrageous, like shocking to get attention from buyers. My largest concern is the crank and 2nd largest is obviously the rod angels.

2.6L and FP Black!!!!!

How well do you think an FP Black would work with this 2.6 liter? AWD Motorsports just built a 2.4 liter 4G64 with FP Black combo that put out over 700 hp and 600 ft/lbs of torque and just ran 9.33 @ 146...wow!!! I was thinking of going ***** to the wall and build this in my spare time this summer. It would be the 4G64 with a Mivec head. I already have brand new GSC S2's and a bunch of parts I've been accumulating. I figured if I am going to build a 4G64, I might as well go as large as possible. I don't need to rev it to the moon on the street. I should be able to rev this set-up to 8000 rpm. I plan on using 156 mm rods, custom JE stroker pistons (9.5:1) with the pins moved up 9mm vs 6mm. This should give me a rod stroke ratio of 1.47:1 which is not too far off the 1.5:1 that the stock block 2.3 strokers are.....except I'll have 2550 cc's of displacement vs. 2324 cc's. This equates to a 21.68% increase in displacement over a stock 2 liter as well as massive torque down low to spool up the FP Black sooner than a stock turbo set-up. This sounds like a no brainer to me. Mr alex, do you still have the photos of the modifications that were needed to be done to the block to fit the 106mm crank? I can pm you my email address and maybe you could send them to me. Thanks and good luck with your 2.6.

thats a pretty bad r/s ratio and the piston speed at 8,000 rpm is well past what most builders would suggest. 7,500 is about the most i would run.

I'll probably just bump the factory rev limiter up to 8000rpm and try to keep it under that and call it a day.

Interesting, I have told you before but I guess I have to repeat myself, the 156mm rods won't fit, that's why Brian went with 6" rods, but if you think grinding the bottom of the cylinders even more than I did is going to work then I aint stoppin´ya

Good luck, keep us posted

Mr.alex, Brian Crower now lists the BC6110 connecting rod on their website to go with the 106mm crank for the 4G64 2.6 liter. That rod equates to a 6.151" or 156.2354. Maybe they have seen it work in the field...you would hope. I remember you telling me about the grinding of the block to make it work, but when I spoke to BC they were initially concerned about the compression height where you would have to shift the pin up 9mm instead of 6mm. There are plenty of people running these custom pistond at 9mm up and they are holding the power without any problems. Manley Performance actually makes a stock 156mm H-beam and a piston with a 1.012" compression height for example. I guess I won't know until I try it. I would assume that the BC7110 piston that sells with the 2.6 liter kit from Brian Crower would have a similar compression height around 1.012". Thanks for the pictures. BTW, do you recall where exactly on the connecting rod did it make contact with the bottom of the bore and how much did you have to remove? Do you have any picture of what it looked like after you were done grinding the block? Thanks

Very nice of you. Thanks!

I hope all the machining and tolerances are correct so we can put this bad boy on the road. Chris Fisher

If you think the 2.6 is going to be reliable with any high amount of power and/or rpm's your outta your mind. Not only is it made by BC but it takes the engine to its absolute limits both physically in the block and the components.
