Did anyone else find this email highly disturbing? WTF

Quote:
It uses a 6.000” rod. The limiting factor is going to be the valve train. The bottom end is safe to go as high as your cam and valve train will let the engine go.

Thank you,

Dustin

I don't know about that. I run cometics on my Evo and turbo Z28. No issues. I have a friend that runs cometics on his 2.0 35R car as well.

You are right!! F1 engine stay around 27 m/s mean piston speed using a stroke/bore ratio around 2.4 / 2.6 and revving the engine at 19.000 rpm,
The stroke/bore ratio on the 2,6 L is 0,82 .
The question is , if true, how the BC guys can say revv 9500 + is safe for the bottom?
106 stroke at 9500 rpm = 33.56 ms ........... no words to comment it.
We revv our 2.3L race engine ( 100mmx85.5) at 8500rpm during hillclimb race ( no long time at WOT) and need rebuild the bottom after 2000 Km.
After this read I think to call my friends in Ferrari and tell them they aren't able to make race engines .

F1 Engines redline @ 27m/s Mean Piston Speed and only needed to last 2 races, less then 500K's in total.........

I would be setting the Redline at 7000Rpm if you don't want to be rebuilding or replacing the block every 5000k's.

Good point, but you also have to factor in that f1 engineers need to make their cars as light as possible, therefore reducing strength and durability in the name of weight savings. For example, last week a pebble got lodged between a mclareans wheel and caliper and machined the wheel in half, because of how thin and light the wheel was.

I'm sure these kits are built more with durability and strength in mind and less with weight savings. With that said, I still wouldn't rev past 8k; that is one huge *** four banger. Should be lots of fun in the low and mid range. Please give a thorough review of it when your done, and enjoy that baby.

Any news of the project?
What about BC 100mm crank???
Is it better than a OEM 4G64 100mm crank???

BC makes a 102mm crank, they are the only ones that have the 102mm so technically you have to buy the whole kit... it's slightly more expensive than the eagle crank-rod and i.e. wiseco piston combo. Is it worth it? probably not... I would go with a OEM 4G64 or a 100mm eagle.

Ok I understand.
What about the K1 100mm crank... is it better from the 4G64?

there is a company here in the UK that can supply you with a 102mm crank and stroker kit that will fit in the 4G63! that gives you 2.4ltr. they have reved this to over 9,500 rpm so i dont think the Crower stuff will have any problems reving that high thanks to the better rod/stroke ratio!!

Chris.

You know Chris I am thinking to build my motor with a stroker amd I am between the following 4 stroker kits...

-Brian Crower Stroker
-K1 crank with good rods and pistons (I didn't dicided yet... Maybe this crank with Buschurs rods and pistons...)
-Buschur Racing stroker
-AMS stroker

What is your opinion???
I aim for 500++ wheel HP with Shell V Power 100 octane gas tune.

i dont think you can go wrong with anything from AMS or Buschur. as long as its a forged cranks you should be fine. not heard much about the K1 stuff. the BC stuff looks good but not seen many people running it.

should be a nice build mate. what turbo are you looking to run??

Chris.

I'm going for HTA35R or HTA37R.
About the stroker now I am very confused...
Buschur's stroker kit.... or...
Cosworth rods and pistons 2.0lt ????
It's on the same price!!!!!

GT35R on a 2.3 should work pretty well.

id go for the stroker. no replacemnt for displacement.

I'd do a 2.2 ltr with a HTA T4Z88 (37R), a 2.3 ltr is really a 2.25 anyway.

If you want a bigger motor, destroke a 4G64 block with a eagle 94mm crank, and spin that sucker to 9500 rpm. If you really want to go crazy, go twin scroll with it

I can't wait to see how this 2.6 works out. I hope he's successful
