Though its already been resolved,

The BC have an extremely tight lobecenter that realistically needs cam gears to open it up and make power. This is what was found on Paul's car and others as well. The S1's are already running a little more open profile and doesnt need as much coddling to get the results.

I ran S1's and liked them, but peak power was at 7200 and I was looking for more.

What are the benefits of running s2's over s1's with a stock VIII turbo?

It's my patented dyno.

Not always accurate and sometimes spews oil from too much power being applied.

From what I gather the S1 cams are the ultimate profile for quickest turbo spoolup on a street driven 2-Liter, stock head, stock turboed Evo. Is this correct? Are there any other cam options which maximize turbo spoolup aside from the S1's? Any Piper grinds or the JUN 264's, etc.?

thanks John for clarifying the need for cam gears. my tuner "4ws" was talking about this when I ask him about the cams recommendation but I didn't quite understand.
He recommends me to go with S1 so I don't have to spend extra $ on cam gears, thanks again for your input.

Put mine in recently too and they looked the same. The further away from the gear side, the worse the spacing.

This is what my issue with the S1's is / was.

My supplier has been in contact with Greg and he has told us that it is perfectly normal that they sit like this (the lobe on the rocker).

So I guess I don't need to wait now for a new shipment of them, I can just go ahead and fit these
