Oil light flickers after WOT runs???

My oil light starts flickering during idle only after I push the car hard. The only thing I can think of is that I had a oil leak that sprayed oil all over the belts which might cause this. I've read about the oil pressure plug crapping out, so I might change that.

What weight oil are you using ?

I was stuck in traffic during a snow storm with 5w-30 and oil temps went very high because the car was idling for so long. I experienced the same problem when idle went low, oil pressure went below 5psi and the idiot light flickered a bit. The oil was just too hot to stay thick

on some cars with cuts i've tuned i notice theyll do this.... The rpms have a slight drop and the car wants to stall even though its a slight drop that you dont physically feel.

If you turn the idle up abotu 50-75 rpms thatll solve this most likely.

Shoot me a pm if you need some help doing this.

Cheers!

A cogged belt drives the oil pump (the timing belt). So, if that should slip, low oil pressure will be the least of your problems.

This nonsense just happened to me today too. Any update on what causes oil pressure to drop at idle right after WOT runs? My typical pressure is 20-23psi at 1200 rpm idle (big cams) using Amsoil Dominator 10W-30. Ripped on the car in 1st and 2nd then went back to normal driving and stalled making a right turn into a parking lot. Oil pressure dropped to 17psi. Shut off car, checked for any leaks or issues and found none. Started right back up and idled smooth again at 21-23psi. I know oil thins out after it gets hot. Mine was at about 195F. Any ideas?

If the oil pressure is truly 17 psi, there should be no problems. In your case I'd venture to look at the sensor itself. "I think" the idiot light comes on at 3-4psi. Also where is your oil pressure tapped at?

Oil pressure tapped at sandwich plate at oil filter (AEM oil pressure sender and gauge). Just replaced stock oil pressure sensor that controls idiot light. I'm now thinking that it has something to do with my Idle settings in my AEM EMS. Idk though. haha. At least nothing broke.

The stalling thing is what bothered me and what leads me to believe it's the Idle settings

Just FYI, this was definitely caused by the IDLE settings in tune. Tweaked them to allow more correction feedback to be used and problem solved.

mine came on after WOT runs tonight. I already fixed the faulty sender for my flickering light at idle... but now it was more steady when DRIVING and off when at idle. The light went off eventually after I checked oil drove a bit and everything... oil temp wasnt even that hot.

no leaks, oil level is perfect as it always is.

WTFGUY?

check the connection. It could be a bearing.

Read up on the Kiggly HLA pressure regulator. It keeps the oil in the oil pan and doesn't allow more than 15psi of oil pressure to reach the head, which is where our oil was going during WOT. It's the easiest thing to install and problems are solved.
