Full Race Twin Scroll Data

Hello All,

I have been working with a customer/friend at night trying to help him with a grad. engineering paper. He is comparing variables in his car to note changes. I am not real clear on what he is doing with the paper so I will not be of much help there.

He is running the Full Race Twin Scroll GT3076 twin gates, HKS 280 cams.

This is an Evo 8 BTW. I have not had time to get it on the dyno yet but that will happen next week sometime but I have done some rough graphs using our datalogs. The spoolup on this thing is crazy. Everyone knows that the TS is supposed to spool fast but this thing really spools fast.

He has peak boost by around 3650-3700 on his pump 22psi map and 3900 at 26psi !!!!!

I will post up some more info from the logs so that everyone can see my data but this thing is awesome. And it is super clean to boot!!

Stay tuned to this as I update some more data later on today

I am going to compile a bunch of info that I have for various GT30R kits that I have done in the past.

I think it would be good to compare different companys and what I have seen. I will have the Full Race 30R tested Saturday so I will have a number then. But untill then I am just going to load this thread with all the info that I have. Dyno Sheets, Logs etc...

Take note most of these are single scroll but I believe it will be a good comparison none the less.

Thanks,
Mitch Mckee

Here is the 25-26psi log with the JDM MAP sensor.

Alberto did a good job setting this car up and it is run on the GM 3 port. The only tuning that I did was to AFR's a bit and the timing. Everything else was all set-up by Al and some others.

I have more coming so stay tuned.

Thanks Mitch... here's another post I put up earlier but I expanded it a bit and put the AFR on the other axis to increase the resolution a bit. I've since cleaned up that little hump in AFR's (boost uses the scale on the left axis, afr on the right - forgot to clean up the headers).

Oh, and all of these pulls are in 3rd gear. On the dyno we can do another pull and show the difference in spool from a 4th gear pull. I also am using mrfred's direct boost control patch. Glad to finally get some dyno numbers for everybody... it's been slow coming but I think I've got the car pretty much sorted.

wow, thats awsome...

So a TS 30R on 2L can actually spool almost like a Single Scroll 30R on a 2.3L

Think most of accept this in theory but have never seen in in practice...

i think it will be close but i still think the 2.3 will spool it quicker

now imagine a 2.3 with 30r TS holy batman spool and torque

I looked around at some of the Gt30R we have had on our dyno. These 2 are different cars, different turbo kits, and I am sure different parts.

Both Evo 8's. Temp is a little different so take this how you want.

Granted different parts, different manifolds, this and that will cause the overall spool characteristics as well as any adjustment in timing. AFR's are just about identical so at least that is constent.

Also remember that these were done on the dyno where the other data was on the road. The road is going to be more accurate but we try and replicate air flow as well as we can as I am sure everyone else does. This will hinder spool but not buy much.

I am looking through all my logs and such and will keep posting info as I find it.

What we can see is that overall spool is very slow compared to the TS, by around 1000pm's!

The twin scroll car is going on the dyno tomorrow so we can compare everything tomorrow.

Thanks,
Mitch Mckee
