ets 3' or 3.5'?
Hey guys, I have an evo 9 se and im looking to buy a fmic asap. Im running a stock turbo with bolt ons. (exhuast/intake/02 housing. test pipe. fuel pump. boost controller. I want to see other opinions on what size fmic to get. Im going to upgrade turbo but not this summer. Probably towards end of year. I need feedback please guys =) 3 inch or 3.5 inch.
What turbo do you plan to run?
If weight and cost is not an issue just get the larger one the greater surface area should reduce back pressure resulting in some gains though perhaps marginal gains.

The 3" is the perfect choice for up to 500whp but you won't lose spool going to a larger intercooler as that is a bit of a misconception. The larger cores will actually outflow the 3" which is why they are beneficial when airflow exceeds 500whp worth. The bigger intercoolers will flow even better than the smaller core, though that extra flow is not necessary for no restriction at the lower power levels

3.5in...there is no drawbacks besides being a hair more $$$. Like Tom said you won't lose spool between the two but have a higher threshold before heatsoak. Fitment is equally good on both.
