So, after lifting my head last fall and deciding what to do with the giant scrap of metal that my Evo had become, I finally decided to start rebuilding. Here's whats on order and on the way:

Buschur stage 3 head
20g turbo upgrade
2.3l Eagle STroker kit from ETS
Kevlar timing belt
ARP Studs
GT Spec Manifold
TTP 850cc injectors
JAM lifters
JAM BS removal kit
Fluidampr
Labonte motorsports VCS3G injection system and failsafe

I'll be reusing my GSC 280's in the head and most of everything else I already had.

I'll update this thread with pictures as everything proceeds. For now all I have are pics of my horribly disorganized garage and a million evo pieces.

First stuff that I have received. 2 day turnaround from JAM:

Almost bare block ready to go to machine shop:

Old guts:

Find all the various evo parts that litter my garage:

Pictures will be added as stuff comes in and as I reassemble.

From another thread:

Quote: it is projected to match the airflow of the existing green, which puts it at about 47lb/min. The 68mm HTA wheel is actually slightly smaller than the current 69-5 wheel. It is also much lighter. Both these factor decrease the inertia of the wheel and contribute to a faster angular acceleration of the turbo.

it will appear the same externally as the current green, no external changes to the turbo, still 100% stock fitment and compatibility.

preliminary testing has shown the 68mm HTA wheel to be stable at 2500rpm and over 22psi without compressor surge, so as of now no eff robbing surge ports required.

Boost ON!

Robert Young

My stock turbo is sitting under Nick's (from Buschur) desk right now waiting for Robert to say they are ready to release the HTA version of the green.

Really a horrible turbo for that motor..

I would advise you to step up to a 50trim atleast. I have personal 1st hand experience with stock frame turbos and 2.3L motors.

50trim is much better on the 2.3L. I would just build a 2L if you were dead set on a green..

I only paid like 1500 for my RNR 50trim with a PTE5031 its non bb with .63 back housing. And will make a easy 10-12psi by 3000 rpms in 3rd on my 2.3L stock head/ gsc 280's @ 0,0 . a 50trim is a much better turbo for the stroker. My car will make 10psi by 23-2400 in 4th also..

heres a vid.. nearly no lag

Keep in mind the RNR mani is short runner and one of the best spooling manifolds i've seen. The BR cast kit will out spool the RNR though.. I'm unsure about the ETS short runner. RNR kits aren't bad just the company was.

Are those all your bolts on the floor in a pile? I hope you remember where they all go. I had to label every bolt on my tear down.
