stage 3 clutch problems?

Hi, I'm new to the evo world, just bought a 2003 evo 8 with 70,000 mile on it, click here to see it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=320214062605

The problem I am having is that in any gear after its fully in gear I give it gas(don't matter how much) and the car shakes really bad until it starts to build boost then it smooths out, it almost acts as a slipper clutch to build boost faster but shakes really bad. also when i am in 5th gear and I start climbing a hill and try to keep 60 mph the rpms go up and down slighty like an automatic wanting to shift. I bought it from a car dealership that didn't know much about it, all they said was a stage 3 clutch not what kind and that it made 382 hp at the wheels which probably is not true but I still love the car. I just can not find any where on here about performance clutches having problems like this. It actually drove nice 5 days ago when I bought it, and I have only raced it twice from a roll since I am not sure how to launch it yet. I bought the extended warranty and hopefully it will cover it, if it is a clutch problem.

please let me know if anyone has any idea of what my problems may be.
Thanks

Yup, it does sound like your clutch is starting to go out. Welcome to EvoM.

It sounds like you are due for another clutch. What is a "stage 3 clutch" because it is going to vary from one manufacturer to another (which is why we don't rate ours that way). I guess it is irrelevant though since it sounds like you will be replacing it soon. Here is a poll of almost 600 people that may help get some opinions on clutches: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=126768

well I had a dodge dealership take it out and it was an exedy stage 2, 4 puck, and it had eat'n into the stock flywheel and most the clutch material was gone, I bought the act hdss street clutch and just got the car back today and wow is this car amazing now that the clutch don't slip, I just miss the turbo spooling fast in 5th gear when it would slip..... The only thing a little off is that 4th and 5th grind a little but I've read that its normal for the act and the dealership said the syncros were good but could be replaced if it bugged me too much, probably not since it will keep me from going to fast, I just want the 0-60 that will blow other cars away and still get good mileage in a 4 door.
