ACD Help!

ok i posted this in the general forum but have had no luck. Below is a synopsys of what happened as well as the issues i have had this week. i am bringing the car into the dealer again. if anyone has any input as to a possible diagnosis or at least logical steps to take to resolve this i would appreciate it

• Back in Dec I was hit in the right front of the car. The impact caused the tie rod end to bend and the knuckle it sits in to elongate so the knuckle had to be replaced. The knuckle as you guys know houses the ABS sensor. Well the ABS sensor was rusted in so the dealer had to get a new one to insert into the new knuckle.

Now the ABS light is off but they could not get the ACD lights to turn off (i had washed the car a day before). The dealer reset the acd using their tool. Taking things into my own hands the next day i unplugged the acd computer hoping to reset it. This worked for about 3 days

• Monday 4/14 no problems. Went to the car wash Monday night. No problems after driving for about 10 minutes after that.

• Tuesday 4/15 drove 30 minutes to work acd lights normal

• Tuesday 4/15 night get in the car to drive home from work. Acd lights all come back on after about 3 minutes of driving. I uplug the 4 connectors from the ACD again but this does nothing

• Wednesday 4/16 am start up the car drive 30 minutes to work. Lights stay off . Wed drive to lunch lights come on after 3 minutes or so. Shut off car for about 5 minutes to get lunch. Come back out and drive 10 minutes and the lights do not come on.

• Thurs 4/17 drive 30 minutes to work and acd lights do not come one.

So it seems like the lights come on when the car is either washed or when the car itself heats up. if I let the car sit in the sun for 3-4 hours then drive the acd lights will all illuminate. I am at a complete loss.

The dealer should be able to pull the code and pin point where is the problem.

On another separate issue with Evo with AYC (JDM), pump failure has been the major cause of ACD lights on. Hope Mitsu has that taken care of on the X.

so its most likely the pump. the code is indicating that the pump is reading low. system has been bled and nearly all of the electrical causes have been ruled out (checking the connection on the pump itselft remains). so now i need to figure out where to buy one of these pumps. i am sure the part is majorly expensive

yeah 2 k plus
i was in a front end accident and the pump was damaged, when i got the list of items being replaced that was the price tag on the pump
have you checked the fluid after the car has been sitting for a while? i know it flux's as you drive from min to max. maybe after it heats up it really is reading low from sucking in all the atf, just a idea.....

yeah basically everything else has been tested. i was hit on the right side of the car back in dec. back then there was no issue up until about 2 weeks ago so it will be impossible for me to prove that the hit was attributable to the pump failure

i was reading on here about some one who had a failing pump, he noticed it at some auto x's i belived when the power was shifter wrong or something like that. then soon after that he was getting the 3 lights. dealer cleared it with the tool and after a couple visited they replaced it and the problem was solved i take it your not under warranty tho

Put the car to the one position. Press and hold the throttle for 3 seconds. You should hear the ACD pump. If not then your pump is more than likely shot.

i was able to find a used pump for 200 bucks. yup 2k miles out of warranty so shelling out 2500 for a new one was no so appealing. phenix i will try your method to test the pump though
