More 93 octane numbers, another record by just a few HP

Before anyone starts in, the record on pump gas I am referring to is on OUR dyno. Anyone who would like to dyno on OUR dyno for comparison and thinks they can beat the numbers we are putting out, please give us a call and set up an appointment, the dyno time will be free and if you beat the numbers I will pay $500. That should make this all cut and dry from here on out.

I am going to produce a video in just a few minutes to document the dyno parameter screen and run data for proof of no monkey business.

Now on to the actual post I wanted to make. The way things are I need to put up a 2 paragraph disclaimer before I can even post.

2003 EVO 8

BR Stage 3 STROKER
BR Stage 3 head
BF 272 cams
BR DELUXE 3.5" FMIC
BR 3" turbo back
BR COP
BR ported stock intake manifold
BR 65 mm throttle body
BR header turbo kit with T67 Ptrim turbo
BR 2.5 upper and lower i/c pipes
Tial BOV
BR double pumper
RC 1600 cc injectors
93 octane from I have no idea where
AEM EMS
BR 3" inlet with 3" cone filter

The car was tuned at 32 psi, straight pump gas. This is the most of any pump gas car I've done to date. The torque is amazing with the stroker and this turbo.

Here's the dyno sheet:

David,

Awesome power.

Now, this is not to start anything, just curious about the bumpiness of the curve, espically around 6,000 to 6,500 rpm. Usually your curves are super smooth. Can you share what was going on around there?

very nice. I'm going to have a simillar setup and am coming to you for a tune. I'm not planning on breaking records but anywhere near that much power on pump gas and I'd be HAPPY lol. guess I'll see what happens

This is the kind of stuff that almost gets me to stop at Buschur on my way home from school and get my HTA35r on a day early instead of waiting to get home to have ICS do it.

VERY Nice! Most can only imagine what it feels like be planted into the seat of that car while mowing through the gears...

I like the way the power just carries out to 7500!

razor, the boost is moving around more than I want it to right in that area, it starts to fall off some after peak torque and then climbs and then starts to fall again.

The torque is retarded, I had this car on our dyno about a year ago too, then it was on E85 with alky injection. The torque was nuts then too but I attributed it to the E85/alky injection. Now it is on straight pump gas and I have it making more power than it did on the E85, so I guess the E85 wasn't the reason for it being a beast!

With an intake manifold/throttle body and Race FMIC, the power would have to go up, it is quite shocking.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. Why do you think it's doing that? Some flow issue? WG issue? Are you using your BR MBC?

Is this in 3rd or 4th gear? Did you synch RPM with roller speed or pickup? (I think I remember you mentioning you use roller speed in the mustang thread but I can't remember)

First 534tq on straight 93 is nuts. Sounds impossible. And this one doesnt even have the race core which I thought was a major factor in producing a good pump gas setup. As I see it this graph KILLS all previous pump gas records. Maybe only a few HP better but the torque is leaps and bounds better.

Dont understand how anyone would want to build another 2.0 after seeing the difference the 2.3 makes. I have personally seen 5 people switch from 2.0 to 2.3 on a 35r setup. Not one was sorry. but that is a debate for another thread.

Fantastic to see you make these numbers over and over, Dave. Keep it up.

Simply amazed.
