Thanks for all the info, crazyevo414!

hm, maybe I should just wait until the bracket comes out before I buy it? I guess I'm in no particular rush anyway.

its aite if high rev doens't like jic's exhaust, but i have to say he is the only one that has had an issue like this. if you read the posts everyone enjoys thier jic exhaust so far. plus other day i was positioning it a little different, and disconnected one hanger and it still was almost impossible to move, my exhaust was sturdy beyond belief.

A lemon, huh? Well, maybe. But why me?! Damn karma from all that street racing back in the day...

I hope I made it clear that I'm not encouraging people to join in my hatred for JIC's exhaust systems. None of the sort! If you've always wanted to get a JIC exhaust then by all means go get one. I won't dog on you. I'm just expressing my disastisfactions.

I'm going to e-mail JIC tonight and tell them what happened. If anything else, I hope they'll be receptive to my story instead of being defensive and totally dismissing my situation. I'll post up their reply when I get it.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Hm, not to blow this up in your face, High Rev, but I caught some earlier posts and it looks like you weren't sure if you installed the exhaust correctly in the first place?

You probably either got a bad slip joint (as in the tail section that slips over the mid section was over expanded) or a bad clamp. If something is interfearing with the clamp (like the threads on the bolt were not cut far enough) it will not clamp down to the proper diameter and will leave the slip joint loose.

Burschur has clamps on his websites for use with his slip joints, maybee you can order one and give it a shot and if it turns out that was the problem, you can let JIC know and tell them you want some sort of compensation (like a new can or something).

Those metal wires that I was referring to in my previous posts had no direct effect on the area which I am complaining about. The area I'm concerned about is where the 2 pipes meet and the clamp, not where those 2 wires were supposed to go. Evidently, I spoke to someone here on forum and he said that the 2 wires were for the ground (located towards the front of the midpipe, near the cat) so they have nothing to do with securing anything together, particularly the midsection, where the problem arose. They aren't like the springs, which are secured on tabs, that hold in place the canister to the end of the tailpipe.

I e-mailed JIC yesterday and haven't checked my e-mail yet, but I spoke to the shop where I got my exhaust and they said they talked to JIC about my problem. JIC wants pictures of the exhaust sent to them so probably on Sunday when I get to borrow a digital camera I'll take some snap shots of the damages.

Well, I got their e-mail. They want to see pictures of the exhaust. I'll be doing that this weekend and I'll probably post them up here so you all can take a good look at it too. Peace.

HIGH REV - it looks like you had the same problems I had when I had my VR4. When I had my VR4 I got a Catback exhaust from ATR that used clamps instead of flanges. I got so fed up with my cat disconnecting from the DP that I ended up welding the 2 together. Then a month later the weld actually broke!!!!! Finally I ended up welding it together a 2nd time and putting screws through it too just to keep it together. After that I never had a problem again. My friend bought the same ATR exhaust and installed it himself and had the same problems. Either none of us know how to install an exhaust with clamps, or we all clamped them wrong incorrectly. Either way my next exhaust is going to be with flanges instead of clamps. I don't need those headaches again.

Never ever had a problem with my JIC Spartan TI

I think it's one of the best sounding by far.
