Damn it, I was just ready to order some Cosworth M2's for my IX, but now I'm skeptical if its even worth the cost.

I called and talked to Ken at Cosworth and he said they stopped using the White Cardboard boxes along time ago and that all the cams should be in a Blue telescopic box.

eh? Did you even look at the two graphs? At ~3600 rpms, the M2s are making 25+ ft/lb of torque. It's not until about 5500 rpms that the stock cams match and that's because it was running 2psi more. Then after ~6800 rpms, the stock cams drop on their face while the M2s keep pulling. Look at the graphs, at ~7200rpms, the M2s are making 30whp more. I'm sure the gains are even larger at higher revs; probably pushing 40-50whp more at 7800-8000 rpms.

Ye something is off because even if you didn't gain anything from the mods, you should have added some hp, especially peak, from the tune itself. The car falls on its face at 6700rpms for some reason. I would be more concerned with the power drop off more-so than the peak numbers imo.

I would honestly prefer a more broader usable powerband rather than just a top end peak power. When I do any cylinder head stuff im just going to go all out with M2's, dual valve spring kit, supertech in. and ex. valves (stock size), JAM lifters and ARP headstuds. Like spdracerut said the cams broaden the powerband and probably have real noticeable gains up top. So build the head, slap a 9k redline on that ***** and let er rip.

I gotta 7800 rpm rev limiter and the stock turbo falls off its face at 7000 rpms, no need to rev any higher unless you gotta bigger turbo.

Did the "blue box" question ever get clearly answered?

Someone mentioned that all Cosworth cams come in the blue boxes now... so the statement that they need to be sent back is not entirely accurate.

His mid-range looks pretty good to me. It looks to me that these cams will do much better if combined with a turbo that can perform into the higher rpms. At a minimum, something like that new White turbo or a Green. I think I will be combining my M2s with a White turbo to maximize my investment into these cams.

Yes, the white box was a older cam. Since the exhaust cam is still the same from the evo 8. Same grind though.

Exactly. I'm going to purchase a FP Green real soon and post the dyno results with the new turbo.
