Housedj, your stock turbo 'spikes' 368wtq for a brief second - that will be fun on the street but at too low rpms to get used during a race; while this Buschur car is HOLDING more torque than that (yes, BUSCHUR dyno) from 5500 to 8000rpm!!! <--- drag racing rpm here...
Take the $10k you're about to lose and go take your car to Buschur to make it go fast...
We don't build many DSM's now-a-days from start to finish. Most of them are builds with all different types of parts and combinations. The few I have done I have not taken any of them to 500 whp on pump. I have a bad *** DSM now that we have built for one of my best friends over the last 10 years, he wanted to sell it, I bought it. I'd imagine that one will go over 500 on pump, if and when I dyno it.
Honestly I dont think anyone here knows the real answer as to how fuel octane is regulated. But my guess is its a lot looser than we wish to believe.
My guess is the octane rating is allowed to be higher than advertised but not lower.

We all know how octane values are derived so it would be pointless to discuss that. What I think is worth noting is this. All 93 octane fuel is not equal. Even though it says 93 octane and tested as 93 octane, sometimes its not. For instance why does the pump say "up to 10%" ? Obviously the ratio is allowed to vary without regulation. And lets not forget e85. It has an octane rating at the pump. But does that ocatne rating change when its cold and the e85 is down to e70? There is definitely going to be a knock resistance difference between e85 that has a true 70% vs the e85 that actually has 85%.

Thanks David for the great build again!!
Can't wait to pick it up, thanks man
If I have time, I might go to track in Norwalk. Does it get very busy on the weekends?
