RRE Perforated/Louvered Resonators Question

How much does theses resonators affect performance? RRE's website says that the perforated one doesn't effect performance at all while the louvered ones effect about 5% of flow. Does this effect power output tremendously?

And, what kind of luck have people had with these resonators?

Thanks

Get perforated..doesn't affect flow much. Louvered ones will affect flow quite a bit on a turbo engine. I use to have a louvered resonator on my turbo civic. By switching to a perforated one, I gained about 1.5 psi more boost and efficiency was much higher. Quicker spool. Better top end.

How well do the perforated ones perform in terms of toning down the exhaust?

They do a pretty decent job. They don't quiet things down a whole lot, but they take some of the sharp harshness out of the exhaust tone.

I have the louvered ones on my stealth from road race... I have since switched back to my turbo xs exhaust just out of curiosity... Throttle response and overall power has increased but noise has considerably as well. I have no dyno numbers to compare but I can definitely tell a difference in performance overall. I'm gonna have a local muffler shop put preforated resonators in place of the louvered ones and put the stealth back on cuz this new exhaust is pretty ridiculously loud. BTW I have a rally cat too which is a preforated resonator in cat shielding... That with the louvered resonators made for a VERY stealthy exhaust, even with 02housing back...

I don't think I could do the oval muffler, but let me ask you this what type if resonator do you have?
