Really Hard To Shift In and Out 6th
Burred a slider or broke a spring in the 5/6th assembly
I think Carlos mentioned it here first (WRXtoEVO) and then I did...looks like this:


then it breaks this:

What happened in mine is I completely lost 6th and 1-5th were fine. Made trips on the highway really lame, but around town and up to 3k in 5th (55) it was okay. I am now on my 2nd 5 speed and a non acd case. Racing and lack of maintainence is what kills the 6 speed, they are good trannies if left to daily driving.

i just read the thread about mitsu having a TSB out on 3 rings in the tranny that break and causes the problem that i'm having. my dealer said they'd charge me $90 to diagnose the problem and if it's covered under warranty they'll fix it. they said if they have to tear down the tranny they would charge $650.
