Noob Question

So my current Evo runs like a top, except for one issue which I will detail later.

Anyway, I was glancing around my engine bay and saw this

This doesn't look quite right. Does anyone know where this is supposed to go?

Also, the issue I have is that after prolonged deceleration (engine running on hard vacuum) my brake pedal gets very hard and the brakes drag. Driving hard and boosting actually seems to clear this up. I was thinking that it is the brake booster or (possibly) master cylinder but this certainly seems suspect.

That goes to your intake tube. It looks like you still have the factory one. Look for a large plastic nipple that it attaches to.

it doesn't need to be attached. it's like a breather. it will be fine. people usually but small like filters where that goes. i would keep it on. it helps if excessive oil builds up on ur head, therefore it will dump it to the ground. i have the same thing. care runs fine.

If no filter is attached, it allows dirt into the motor. Anytime the motor is in a vacuum condition, air is being drawn in through that tube. Any dirt in the air makes it directly into the top of your motor and into your oil.

Ivan, great call! I have that nipple masterfully plugged.

Any idea at all if this is related to my brake booster issue?

vent that line to the bottom of your car...i wouldnt suggest putting it back into the intake, because your intercooler will get filled with oil
