Wow spool/dv sound is like night and day compared to stock. It's sooooo much louder than you would expect. As for the intake filter I needed one that was extremely short so I was limited in options. Here's what I got.

I know some of you will laugh because it's APC but it works flawlessly. They're supposed to be reusable but I don't clean them since they're so cheap. I just replace them every few oil changes.

Oh by the way nothing was changed except for the intake.....and obviously the tune.

The Apexi filter. Unfortunately it's like 80 dollars.

Buschur old filter that mounted directly to the MAF, or what is also known as the GST no name filter. If you're lucky, you can find it on e-bay. There is a noticeable difference from changing the HKS filter to this one. The MAF likes it better because it bolts up to the MAF and does not obstruct flow into it. This should be a concern when mounting intakes and filters to the MAF. The new Buschur filter that replaced the old one sucks.

HKS intake with the directly mounted MAF filter is the best intake on the market for stock, or stock style turbos.

It's an intake... You will pick up very little power. Stay away from the K&N typhoon and you'll be fine.

I had an HKS RS intake on my VIII for about 2 years. I loved it. As far as power goes, it's one of the best out there. It also fits great and looks great. The only drawback is the foam filter element. It does not filter as well as some other ones out there. It's not a problem though if you change it at the specified intervals. Every 5,000 miles I think. A small price you have to pay for the best flow.

Thats what I was thinking. Change it every other oil change. Along with the other things. Thanks for the reply.
