Radiator Coolant Leak From Top.

I apparently have a leak in my radiator.
The reserve tank seems to drop slowly over time.
I've since narrowed the source of the leak to the top of the radiator.
It seems to just kinda pool in the cracks where the metal meets the plastic on top.
there aren't any crack in the hoses or anything.

Will post pics later but has anyone run into this problem.
Trying to determine if the radiator is shoot or not.
Haven't done a leak test but i can see the coolant seeping out of the top.

Run some purple dye in the radiator and get a flourescent light - it should show you the exact source of the leak.

GL bro, maybe time to run a Koyo...

Highlighted in green where the coolant ends up.
I think it's leaking from somewhere on top and then just flowing into the cracks.

Doesn't happen all the time either. I've pushed the car hard, checked, and nothing.
I've taken a 2 min drive, checked, and saw coolant filled in where i highlighted.

The way the radiator is assembled is core, gasket, tank top and then the metal fingers are crimped over. Over time either the gasket shrinks or the metal fingers lose their tension and you have a leak.

I've heard of having the tank recrimped but I'd recommend you have someone at a radiator shop do this if you want to try it. The best bet is a new radiator.

Try a new cap before replacing the radiator.

It isn't the cap. Radiator needs to be replaced. Mine would leak when cold and for the first 5 minutes of driving, then everything would expand and seal.

sucks

dude same thing happened to me. If you ever see older and even some newer bikes they did the same thing plastic tops that are a weak point and almost always explode at some point from being pushed. I replaced mine with a ebay way that still uses the factory fan and I have just recently need to build the motor clearly unrelated. And have had no problems with it. Will see when it goes from 400whp to 550whp

Mine did the same thing a few weeks ago. I put my pressure tester on it and found a long hairline crack... replaced it with a koyo unit.

Well, I had coolant on top of my radiator, replaced the cap and dry since. Which is cheaper and easier to replace? Unless you can see the leak, try a cap.
