Radiator Coolant Leak At The Top

So I came home today and parked the evo in the garage. I went back into the garage about 3 minutes later to grab a drink and heard a hissing noise coming from the engine bay. I popped the hood and saw that coolant was filled up in all the grooves and bubbling about 2inches to the left from the hose, and that some coolant has leaked onto the floor.
Is this a common problem, and will I have to get a new radiator?

I have a stock unit for sale if interested. Pics available. I've never heard of this issue being a common problem.

i got a leak on my radiator exactly how you did. i bought a mishimoto for 240 shipped on map and it was a breeze install and works great! i dont think you can save your rad imo. the top piece is plastic and is very weak.

I have a KOYO, but IMO the core is a wee bit thick, especially if you are apt to be adjusting the WGA frequently as I do.

How thick is too thick? I had to grind down the trailing edge on my stock fan's blades as well as the shroud. I would check out the CBRD radiator as it has a high efficiency ultra thin core. The CBRD fan is a bit more expensive though.

I was actually looking at the CBRD radiators but honestly I don't want to and I don't have enough money to get a $650 raditator. I'll probably go with the cheap Mishimoto.
