To be more specific on the issue.

4th gear log...

4200--10psi
4500--16psi
4600--20psi
5000--28psi!!!

Please remember that "not all psi is created equally". FYI the car made 460whp @ 23psi.

Just ignore the numbers on your tach, watch the speedometer instead!!

What intake manni/tb are you running?

Aside from drop-in pistons/rods and drag radials, this is my next logical mod.
I am still on the stock intake manifold and throttle body. That would probably give me a good 40hp gain, but I have other things I need to buy first. (roll bar, tires ).

BTW, 8K at the dragstrip and you might be a bit laggy shifting from 1-2, but the rest of the gears should be fine. For reference, I shift at 8500rpm and that is just about right if I nail the shift perfect 1-2, which is hard, but occassionally I get it. Also, I envy your 80% IDC, I am at 95% on 1150cc and two fuel pumps... damn E85.

6500rpm on the two step. Slip just enough to get the car rolling and then quickly let out the rest. FYI, I have the .63 turbine housing, so you might need a few hundred more rpms, but 6500 is a good starting place.

You will love them. Smooth idle with a little 'lump pum pum'. Pulls all the way up! Good thing for rev limiters.

I must admit, threads like this are super motivation.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=338153

It's always easier to follow in someone else's footsteps. I followed the purple/plumb 4banger's steps back in the 90's ( even though turbo tech magazine is no comparison to evom ), and now DB and the pumpgas amigos keep setting the bar.

I forgot to mention this in my first post and felt the need to give credit were credit was due. Got too damn excited.

Now if I can read a few more 'trent-o-matic' posts, i'll figure out how to get further into the 10's this week at e-town.

Anyone on evo-m have a set of used drag radials for sale?

A guy tuning his own car is making this much AWHP with stock head/bottom on pump gas!
I couldn't be happeir since you help out many of us.

I realized in recent days that money spent on the car (tune, expensive build etc..) does NOT equal to how well the car runs UNLESS I have solid understanding of my car.

Congrats!

Someone hook him up with drag radials! lol

You are more than welcome to... but we may go to island dragway-- etown is breaking Ricky's ballz on the 9sec license issues.

Island Drag? that place is FAR...dunno if i want to drive out there. Anyway, when Wednesday come I'll probably change my mind.

BTW, I spoke to Rotten Top today and he said the white "P" is going to etown.

7000--11.21

IDC's @7500 = 80% (Still room for much more boost)

AIT sensor shows 95deg @ 3000rpm --- 96.8deg @7600rpm ( This was the 14th pull!!)......... Thanks ETS! As I mentioned before the temps actually drop on the street. Cold-air duct and vis carbonfiber hood definately help a bit. I was expecting much more than a 1.8deg rise in temps sitting in an 89deg garage wiith 1 bs fan in front of the car.
That's a great result, but it's what I say every time someone asks why an intercooler is a good upgrade regardless of mods. I'll keep this post handy if you don't mind

Great result and impressive self-tune! How are you doing with drivability on the AEM?
