A mid 9 sec. evo red powered car...which leads me to believe this is the turbo I want just for 10 sec. passes without pushing the car very hard.

Is .040 the largest overbore size? I'd keep it one size under just in case you might need to bore the block one more time, later on. You never know!

I think .40 is the largest/ safest bore you can go, but I'm not entirely sure on that.

Aby seems to think 87mm pistons wouldn't be that big of a deal (every .020 is 1/2mm). That would also mean about 2.38 liters of displacement. Some on here might say 87mm is "crazy talk," but quite frankly I'll listen to the guy who has built engines with 16,000rpm redlines

Im not a huge fan of a big heavy 87mm piston.. There is no 1 right way to do anything though.. just my opinion..

Who said anything about heavy?

A lot of the pistons I've seen people put in their cars are much heavier than an 87mm piston that would potentially go in my car.

IF all else is equal on the piston @ 87mm it would be heavier than stock bore.. 1 Gram + 1 Gram adds up at 10krpm..

Who said anything about 10k?

If all else is equal, true, but if you start with a light piston to begin with....

Besides, we're talking about my hypothetical stroker.

If we start getting uber technical, you're going to loose me...

Not everyone has the same theories of course.. One camp likes 2.0's, some like 2.1's, others like 2.2's, and some 2.3's.. Its all what you have had good luck with i guess..

Now imagine if you get a Race FMIC and a nice intake manifold. WOW is all I can say.
