Turbo is 1799.00.. Only way to know how much it will make on a stock motor w/ kelford 272's is to do it.. Otherwise its all speculation.. I am positive it can make 450-500 on a bone stock car on e-85.. Beyond that NOBODY knows..

There is plenty of e-85 in indy man. I have been running my car on it for a while now. Its worth going a few miles out of the way to get fuel, for the added performace.

Absolutely, and no one has a monopoly on the truth. Engines come in 3 sections...parts, build, tune. Anyone of those has shortcomings, you may not be happy

For me, a 2.3 with a redline of 8500 will be just fine. Your needs/tastes/beliefs may vary

Bump for almost 600whp with a stock-looking turbo

The RED is definitely a 600+ whp turbo. We made 548 with boost cut on the Mustang Dyno. That was WITHOUT tuning it. At dynoday, we threw the tune into it, then dyno'd it. Add the already established 7 % difference between the Buschur Mustang and the Switzer DynoJet and we're at 585 with boost cut and 'offline' tuning. With a little tuning on the dyno, it easily rolls over 600. That's plenty of power for a street legal car. It's really plenty of power for a drag only car. Stock exhaust manifold, Wilson stock intake manifold. Very stock appearing with great spoolup, throttle response and power up top. I'm 100% sold, FP did their homework on this turbo.

After reading through the nearly 200 posts, this one off topic statement made me shake my head in disbelief. When you say that you're putting down 389whp/378wtq with a IX turbo all with basic bolt-ons, I'm really questioning that. There are many-a IX EVO on here running either meth/alky or E85 with other "non-basic" bolt-ons that still struggle to squeeze that amount of whp/wtq. How did you solve the Matrix? Do share... Below is a pretty strong VIII/E85 combination putting down 394whp/418wtq.

Also off topic, I really enjoyed this video but one mistake and it was off-the-cliff my friend!

When I read the thread title, the scene from Shrek when Donkey was singing "Ima Believer" quickly came to mind. I'm no way at all trying to duplicate these numbers but it certainly gives me a realistic idea of the potential the FP Red has for us 2.0L, shift at 7200-7500RPM, daily-driven guys. I use my car in all venues (i.e. - drag, autox, road course, etc.) and the FP Red IMO is leading the way in the realm of realistic compromises. I'm going with the FP Red, E85, upgrading to Kelford 272s, BR race FMIC, along with the required supporting parts. I'm not interested in upgrading internals which I've read is "recommended" over the 525whp mark (correct me if I'm wrong). I've looked at the power between 5K-7.5K and it's pretty impressive. With E85, I know it gives the added capability to increase boost levels and 30PSI seems to be middle-of-the-road considering that some stock VIII/IX turbos on meth/alky/E85 are running 28PSI or so. Could the boost in the FP Red on E85 essentially be turned up a bit and still remain in the "safe" threshold? The price is pretty good as well but does anyone know if there is going to be a IX-to-Red conversion offered by FP in the future?

Hopefully this will help you out in the search for E85.
