2.3 L red set-up FTW!!
4 weeks until I get MY red on my car

I will post pump gas dyno sheets

Made a lot of tq on pump 420tq and i'm expecting more out of my Red... Or at least a wider powerband to play with...

May not see a big jump in peak torque, but the torque curve itself should get higher across the board as it is more efficient as RPMs rise than the Green, which will translate into much higher WHP numbers. Not sure how drastic on pump gas, though.

So far the Red's in the general public are looking promising.

I would be interested to see what the spool is like with a 25-26psi peak, as we all know it will hit 20psi sooner if it's shooting for the moon of 30psi.

Green on E85 was impressive torque, but with how quickly they fell off, and seeing how E85 is "the torque fuel", a 2.3 is the spool/tq. engine, it just makes sense on a Red.
Frank, this just makes me want to keep and use the hardware we talked about . Every time I look at the curves, I am still impressed with how brutal the power delivery is.

Turbo looks impressive.

On a side note: According to the local news, in all of MD there are only 5 stations that carry E85, and I have never seen one myself.

3 peeps have now claimed 30ish PSI by 3800 RPM for the Red(Trent, Scott of TTP,and one other). This is pretty incredible spool for a turbo that can deliver 3076-like power.

I hear what you are saying though....When peakboost is octane limited to 26 PSI, will the Red's rate of spool be negatively impacted to any considerable extent.

definitely nice to see this turbo on a 2.3 build, top end dont seem too bad, now my question is how would it compare to a hta35r? comparing two cars with the exact same build and fuel. would the faster spool overcome the better topend of the 35r? finally, it would really be nice to see a graph overlay of a hta35r car with similar mods and boost and this turbo.

Yea for sure, I am very impressed. I am also very curious of what the spool will be like at "normal" boost levels. I might be impressed again.

If you're driving an HTA 35R car and experiencing lag you're doing something wrong...brake boost and or downshift

No.

The HTA 35r, 35R, 30R all offer a considerable amount of lag compared to a stock turbo.

There is no way around the increased spool times and boost response associated with going with a bigger turbo, some might be better than others but none compare to a stock framed smaller turbo.

ok, pull up beside me with a 16g, green/red/blue/white whatever, 30r and see if that quicker spool makes any difference.

I'll brake boost and be at 30psi and when it's time to go it'll be all over but the cryin and if you're going from a dig I launch at 7000rpm on the 2step at 15psi, there's no respool time on shifts either.
