True. It's not really "a way around it", but from what we have seen a stroker and true twin-scroll seems to help alleviate some of it.

Agreed.

Best we can do thus far

It appears most of the benefits from twin scroll however are only felt on the road and not the dyno, quick spool and low end tq is only part of it, the transient boost respnse is something that can only really be accounted for on the road.

I am sure the Red responds quick!!!

And remember with a 100mm stroke, every .5mm increase in bore is approximately 25 more cc's...so stock stroker is 2.27L, .020 overbore is 2.298 and .040 overbore is 2.324

Who says you can't get close to 2.4 liters with a 4G63

boost response can be changed drasticly with cam set up, manifold choice, ect...

That's a very good thing to keep in mind!

Yes, this is helpful on the intake side, but will only help to an extent. If there is restriction and inefficiency on the exhaust side, nothing on the intake side is going to change that. Like Scorke said, in terms of transient response, that's where the benefit of twin-scroll is really found.

For those who cannot afford or justify a Full Race TS kit (most of us), the Red does seem to be a good alternative.

And the 22mm pin, 86mm off-the-shelf J&E stoker pistons only weigh one more gram than the 85.5mm (286 grams vs. 285 ).

I'm going with a .040 overbore with the Red. Who cares about cylinder wall thickness when you'll be around 500 whp. Just need E85 now

Because drag racing is everything?

Remember some guys that own evos actually turn and throttle steer.

I haven't cared about turning the wheel since the 35R but I might have to try it again.

truly it's Rallycross not autocross but I get what you're saying and I'll get out there and blister the tires when it cools down. I'm not going to stand out there half the day waiting my turn in 100* temperature

Didn't say autocross at all...just turning. I put autocross third behind rally (not rallycross) and road racing in terms of the Evo's specialties. Autocross is lame compared to those anyway. In a track event, you get over an hour of track time per day...
