So I changed the plugs tonight to BPR8ES plugs and increased the gap to .027 up from my original .022 with the factory ignition. Tonight is pretty cool and wet but I figured I'd head out and test it with the wider gap. I got the boost to about 19psi and redlined the car in 2nd and 3rd without any miss at all. My WB02 is currently on the fritz and needs a new sensor so I didn't want to push it much past stock boost levels. However the initial road test is showing me that the system is in fact doing a much better job than factory.

Next step is, well get my LC-1 sensor, and then, increase boost to 24-25 and open the gap until I am happy, which I am shooting for .03-.032 but will settle for the .027 it is currently at if I can run it at the boost I want.

I wonder if this would work with the ARC-2 instead of the 2g igniter?

you can order the parts from magnecor to make custom leads if there are not some for another car that fit

here's the link to their catalog http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/files/catalog.pdf if anybody is interested

does anyone know where the actual dsm ignitor is on a dsm? my buddy has an old laser that we just pulled the engine on and he said i could have it. is it connected to the coilpacks?

EDIT: its right beneath the intake manifold next to the timing belt cover

Small update.

I am currently up to 21-22 psi running the same .027 gap without any problems at all. Thus far, next to my QTP cutout, this is the best mod I have done.

so ive got the coils and the ignitor and im ready to start wiring it up but i dont see how to wire the coils. all i see are two splits on the bottom of the coil that look like a spade connector could fit in it.

how are you guys connecting the wires to the coils themselves?

Just as you said. Spade connector

A normal sized spade connector "Fits" into the space for it. You really have to jam it in there though. Start off getting one corner in and then rock it side to side and it will go in.

I'm not sure exactly what they use on the OEM harness for that connection but next time I am at the junkyard I will find out.

BTW, I also have an extra Ignitor if someone needs one.

Much like Burger King and their new idea to have people from remote corners of the world taste test the Whopper Vs. the Big Mac, I like to have objective opinions about my car.

So the wife has to take my car to work the other day so I can get hers in the shop. She hasn't driven it in probably two months, long before I did some work to it.

She called me at home to see if I could bring here dinner at the hospital and to tell me "Your car is wicked fast. It doesn't break up anymore."

So much like a priest at a firing range, I got the objective opinion I was looking for.

If anyone does this mod and needs any help just shoot me a PM.

Does anyone possibly have a source for the pins and connectors to make this a plug and play mod?

why dont you try to buy the harness for the hks dl2? and just cut the connector for the hks box off.
