how to get 30lbs out stock turbo

i have been trying to make 30lbs on my stock turbo, but i seems like it doesnt wanna do it. i make about 26-27 in first gear, then 3rd and 4th it makes 30lbs. I have a forge boost controller that is turned all the way up with the stiffer spring in it and even with the other spring in it turned all the way up it made the same boost. and yes i am running meth to. sometimes in 4th gear i see about 32 lbs

Then you _are_ getting 30psi...32psi actually based off your last statement. Why do you think you're not getting 30psi when you just stated that you are?

As far as boost in each gear goes, look at the trend. Lower gears = less boost. Higher gears = higher boost. This is due to the increase in load with successive gears. That's how it works.

You can try increasing the WG preload to about 22-24#. However, as Warr noted, it's kinda tough to do much better than you already have in 1st and 2nd gear anyway.

EDIT: But watch out because once you achieve 30-31 PSI in 1st & 2nd, then you'll most likely creep to 34# in 5th. You could run an EBC instead of the UNOS. Some of the EBC's allow you to set different gear specific boost levels(I think?).

Theres a bit less load in the lower gears as stated so it might be difficult to get a full 30psi in first gear.

I ran 30psi and I also seen 31psi on my Evo8 MR on stock turbo but I only ran like that for a few days. Whne I was getting tune once with Dynoflash by car was actually losing power above 28psi.

Some people actually like to run more boost so that when the boost start taping down the taping occurs at higher boost level.

It is up to you but my piece of advice is not go that high if you want reliability. There is soo much you can squeeze out of that stock turbo efficiently.

29-30 psi on stock evo ix turbo,,, 1st 2nd 3rd no issues ,,, however because of the nature of the stock turbo it tappers quick,,,, however i hate to blowing hot air anymore because as we know 30psi is wayyyyyy out of the efficiency of the stocker

Another thing to ask is what are you using to monitor boost. If it's a boost guage it might be inaccurate. I know my Defi is off by a couple psi.

do you need to port the stock turbo to be able to push that kinda boost?

also anyone have the efficiency numbers for a stock IX turbo?

Incorrect, I've seen evos that won't go past 28-29 psi no matter what

Then either crush the stock bov or aftermarket bov, walla, 30psi+

Some are known to leak and/or open at full boost spikes.

My own personal evo would only boost 29.5psi no matter what, crushed my metal bov and bam 34psi.

Most of the 03-05 plastic OEM bov's won't boost over 24psi.

So yes, it does matter what bov you use...

no it doesn't matter in his case. The op states he spikes at 32 lbs. If his valve was leaking at anything less, he would never reach that peak pressure.
