The problem with these cheap ching chang chong turbos, are the oil seals in the center section. They have a tendency to blow out under operating pressure. I have first hand knowledge regarding these cheap turbos. We put a ssac kit on my buddy's del sol, and it was quick for about a month before the turbo failed. After alot of e-correspondence, he was able to get a free replacement, along with some advice hand-written on a piece of copy paper. It said,"Use an oil restrictor inline before the turbo." So he got one off ebay and we installed it. That kit is still kicking almost 3 years later. You can take that with a grain of salt.

Is that a FUC%ING racist remark you ignorant POS? For your info-fu#kin-mation, ssac is a United States company operating out of North Carolina! Truth is, as far as we know, nobody is dumb enough to order one of these OBX kits because nobody knows jack about it. Except for the fact that they sell cheap products and their quality lacks extensive enginereering.

Im pretty sure deadbolt turbo is a US company as well. Like I said I have no doubt the turbo will work. Just doubt the reliability, serviceability, and think its sooooo wrong to bite FP's name

Racist?! Wow, you really wanted to pull that card, huh? I like how you called me ignorant before you even gave me chance to retort. For your information, I happen to be mostly native american along with a few other things. My best friend who is black just gave his life in Iraq so you could point a finger at who you thought/hoped was a racist. If the comment was not "pc", I'm sorry. There was no malicious intent behind the comment, it is just a description used often over at honda-tech, where I used to a member. I feel sorry for you. There must be a lot of hatred in your heart, if you feel the need to label someone. Way to be "TOLERANT".

I hate going off topic. You never know how someone will interpret what you say or type so don't assume. You stated you have a black friend but you made a remark associated with orientals not blacks. I seriously doubt you meant to offend anyone but think about the ramifications of saying things of such nature.

That's pretty much any turbo out there, whether it be Garrett/IHI/PTE etc. I've had brand new Garrett's bite the dust on me because the oil pressure was too high, and I've had more than a few friends that have run the chinese copies with the oil restrictors and have absolutely no issues with them for years. Only thing I can say is that I've never seen a chinese turbo run over 19psi before, mostly because the motors they were attached to just couldn't handle that much. Honestly I think it's a hit or miss situation, and who knows if its even been balanced properly. For that much money is it really a risk you want to take? I'd rather pony up the extra cash and get the real deal and have peace of mind the entire time.

No, I didn't want to pull that card but I thought of all the people who you might be offending by using that term so carelessly. I called you ignorant because you used a racist term without even thinking that you might offend a race, hence IGNORANT! Sorry about your best friend but that did not justify what you posted. Just because he is black and you are of mixed ethnicity doesn't mean that you can say things like "ching-chang-chong" and not be called racist. Now think about it, what if I said something like that? What if I said something like crackerjack American made POS! Honestly, would that offend you? Ok, I got it out of my system.

To the op: Sorry for the thread jack. It was not my intention to do that, nor offend anyone. I have had to deal with racism myself, so I know what it's like. Evohung, if I offended you, I apologize. It was an innocent remark that in retrospect may have been in bad taste. However, you could have handled the situation in a civil manner, instead of name-calling. As my sifu used to say," Hate does not beget hate." Anyway, back to our scheduled programming...

one could.... buy this turbo, replace the center section with one off their 8 or 9 turbo, use the wheels and housing, and just have the CHRA balanced.

hmmmm....
