So i was driving back from tuning technologies cruising 70 and hear this loud bang. I immediately pull over to see if I see any oil around. Engine was fine starts up ok and revs fine. So i go to check hoses everything is connected properly. So i throw the car back in first to go when I hear a metal grinding sound. I pull over again. throw in reverse and drives fine backward. put it back into first and hear that grindin sound. By the way 3 evos pass me up and the one guy that pulls over to help is in a STI...thanks guys for the support...lol

So its not an engine problem and not a clutch issue...any ideas

Any other gears work besides reverse? Sounds like the tranny took a dump.

+2 t-case. me and my friend where coming back from RRE here in cali when the same thing happened to him. His was worst because his wouldnt go into first gear.

Well my car has 45k miles on it and my powertrain warranty is 60k. So I called and South Coast Mitsubishi said it should be covered. Still waiting for response from them on what it is.

I highly doubt you will be warrantied becausde most likely your modded if you were coming from a shop.... strip that ***** down before you bring it to the stealership

 

Well thanks for laughin about my warranty which is being covered. Just got back from the dealership. Ready to pick up tomorrow....

it was the TC and Yes I am modded...TBE MBC drop in filter Tanabe springs and Custom tune from tuning technologies. Yes I am very fortunate... Mitsubishi rocks

That isn't very modded. And those mods don't directly affect the tcase. Glad you got a new one out of it. Treat her well
