btw - rev limit depends... we change it depending on tune & what track we run... yesterday I spun her up to 8k & boost held easy at 26psi using the FP actuator.

running q16... wasnt watching boost guage, only AFR's for the shake down runs... Ive driven this car enough to know though what I need as far as response & power... the FP red has just a tad more lag than the green with lots more up top.

I'll ask mikey to check the logs about spool when I see him

Could it be that the FP Red is perhaps more responsive since you are running a 2.2, Nils? I think for the avg poor guy like me with stock head, camwork and stock block, the repsonse is quite different? Just curious....

I will say I do run the mil.spec IM/TB combo...

undoubtedly a 2.2 will spool the red quicker than a normal 2.0... but remember, im coming from a green on a 2.2 going to the red.... so I have experienced the straight swap of just the turbo & the minimal addition of lag is just not an issue.

Trust me, im the sort of guy that would opt for response over top-end anyday... on a road course, coming out of the turn hard is how you go fast.... not by keeping 26psi at the end of the front straight.

the top end is extra go-go juice... the spool is what matters... this turbo is the best of both worlds.

From the Red dyno results we have seen so far, it does seem as if an increased displacement 4G63 with a Red almost turns into a car with very close to Green on a 2.0 response, but with way more power.
Would you say so Nils?

Nils - we mere mortals envy the likes of you, sir! Someday, if I keep my hunk of junk I would like to do the same and get a 2.3 with a red and keep the rest of my setup as its pretty simple and clean. I do have a green right now with 0 miles on it...

I have not yet seen black&white data that supports what you say.
Could you share logged data that shows boost and rpm, before and after red turbo.

Yeah, Nils is probably lying, and doesn't know what he is talking about.
There is plenty of hard data on this site on both the Green and Red turbos to support what he said.
