Grease in your Forge BOV?

I was changing the springs for my Forge BOV the other day and when I opened it, I noticed there was reddish/black grease in there. Is this normal?

If it is normal, could you guys tell me what kind of grease it is so I can lube it up again because I cleaned it out.

Thanks!!

Off topic can I quickly post a question for you...How many pounds of boost are you running to change the spring? Forge told me that even running 20psi to redline won't require the change of spring. How many psi and what spring are you using?

Mobil Synthetic Grease. You definitely need the grease in there for the valve to function properly. We recommend taking a look at the valve and regreasing, if needed, about every other oil change.

The question is, how much grease to put in? Does it matter if the grease gets everywhere in the valve? What exactly do we put this grease?

After my MBC, I want to be running 20-21PSI. Currently stock boost but the valve flutters so I am switching to yellow spring. The valve came with the blue inside. I will switch back to blue once I up my boost.

Just put a film of grease around the two o-rings in the cap of the valve. I can't explain the amount of grease but just enough to lube the two o-rings.

WannaRace,
Yellow spring should be perfect. We run the yellow spring in our US spec EVO and blue in our JDM EVO 8.

Yellow spring is aftermarket right? It comes with blue? Would I need to use the shims to tune the springs or can I just drop the spring in? How do I know when to tune? Thanks
