Oil on manifold...WTF?

Okay, I have the biggest love hate relationship with my Evo, and this is on of the many reasons I hate her. I go to sell her, I get a buyer, sh*t like this pops up.

I have an oil accumulation on my manifold, closest to the head, never on the runners. I had my head gasket replaced along with the exhaust valve seals & intake seals about a month ago figuring I would nail it with one of the above. No dice. Still leaking.

I have around 35k on my car and have replaced my head gasket twice now due to me seeing oil where it shouldn't be (OCD), please shed some light as to wear it could be coming from. TIA.

The other runners look the same. I'll get better pics up soon.

Mine did that. Fixed it long time ago and havent seen a trace of oil.

The cause: Ussually after removing exhaust manifold. The studs loosen a little upon removal so when you go back and torque the nuts, the studs aren't fully installed and they leak. There's runners from the head to the sump, and the exhaust stud holes go right in there too.

The fix: You have to remove the cast manifold so you can double nut tightn the studs all the way in to the non-threaded shaft of the stud.

Just make sure you thread them in ALL the way tight before the nuts

Hi
I think oils leak is from exhaust manifold bolt of cylinder head, take out the bolts
put a little glue and re-torque again, you can fix the problem. I hope I can help you.

I believe 2 run in the oil gallery one on the middle bottom and the larger stud on the left if I recall correctly. Also I wouldn't run ss hardware, I ran those for a bit and they kept backing off and making the same leak as this. I changed back to the oem stud and no leaking since.

Yeah a touch of high temp RTV on the threads and then a good torquing should fix it.

YES, always RTV your bolts/studs if you are unsure if they go into an oil or water passage.
