Stock Clutch - Chatter when takeoff - Time to replace??

Background:
Hey whats up guys. My car makes about 350awhp, and the stock clutch has 37k on it. It has only been launched 4 or 5 times ever. In 3 weeks I will be driving to TN (about 1000 mile round trip).

What it does:
When taking off from a standstill, it seems to catch-slip-catch-slip when lightly taking off from about 1500rpm, creating a lot of driveline lash where even the exhaust will hit the underside of the car sometimes. The clutch has never slipped during acceleration. Does this chatter during takeoff mean its time top replace it? Or is there anything I could do to fix this problem?

TIA

mine chatters a lot, especially in the morning after a cold night and the clutch isnt up to temp. It happens to a lot of the local guys too. So based off only chatter i would say you dont need to replace it. But if it is slipping then it is on its way out.

Also, how much torque do you make? Clutches are rated for torque ratings not HP.

How many miles do you have on yours?

Tq is around 330, but i'm throwing meth on in the next few weeks... so that number will def rise a bit.

Flywheel may just need to be resurfaced.

I just installed a ACT clutch/flywheel combo...and the previous owner did a really really crappy job refinishing the flywheel (I still had the stock clutch/flywheel last to 69,XXX miles). The flywheel surface was not smooth at all, you could feel alot of swirl marks from the refinishing. Thus, probably the reasoning why I was feeling the same thing you are feeling...

My car did the same exact thing you are describing for almost 3 years. I just lived with it.

same thing happened to me for about a week a month ago. The issue resolved itself or so I think.

Haha, 3 years --- wow. That makes me feel a little better.

If you're putting meth on your car, you should start looking into a clutch anyway because the torque WILL kill your stocker

my car has 8500 on it, and the clutch chatter just suddenly developed this weekend...I'm bummed because when the windows are up it's quite annoying.
