Question Taking the T-Case Out...

Hey Guys-

This is my first post on EvoM-

I have a question for you all-

I am in the process of installing an Exedy twindisc clutch on my Evo8 and am having a problem taking the transfer case off.

I used a slide hammer to remove the axel from the t-case that connects it to the transmission. I am trying to use pull the t-case off now...I have tried pry bars from multiple angles and am having NO luck - it's about an inch away from the transmission and it won't go any further....

Any ideas??

Thanks!

Hrmm, are you talking about the other shaft that comes out of the transmission? If so, no I didn't take that one out.

I didn't even think of looking on the other side- Guess that would fix it, huh?

Thanks man

Yea, the front differential is actually in the transfer case, so both front half shafts go into the transfer case. The ***** is getting the transmission to slide away from the engine. I will probably just lift my whole engine/tranny out if I ever do it myself. It will take longer, but save me a lot of headache.

Thanks for the info , I'll give it a shot tomorrow after work and post how it went.

Cheers!

Funny story - I was actually using evomoto's howto, I guess I just read it wrong...whoops-
I am at work now, I am going to see if I can get the other output shaft out and take the t-case off tonight, wish me luck!

Thanks!
