Prototyping 8MR UICP: Looking for input

We're doing a little design study on the Evo we have and started to fab up some upper intercooler pipes for it. I know that there's a ton of different ones out there already, but we wanted to look into having one that was already flanged up for our Synchronic BOV. No adapter BS to mess with potential clearances.

The piping is in 2.5" Aluminum.

Would anyone out there buy a UICP kit that required a relocated, or small battery?

The pipes in the pic are setup for having the battery, but I wanted to see if making one with a smaller/relocated battery would even be of interest out there.

Already setup to recirc properly. Or blocked off when running a standalone.

I don't want to sound like a jerk but you are about 6 years behind. 6 years ago we built the first I/C pipe that required installing a smaller battery to shorten the rediculous factory routing and get rid of all the bends.

Will anyone buy them? Just about everyone has and just about every other EVO shop copied the shorter design we started.

That's kinda what I was looking for. To see if it would even be worth it to have both types of piping available.

I know that a ton of people make UICP pipes already. That's pretty obvious.

You can't really get innovative about piping. Just looking at easy kits for the guys that want our BOV in a kit form.

Make sure you stick the bov in a place where it will clear all the different intakes out there.

David he was pretty upfront about saying the reason they were making this pipe. To fit there bov. There is no one claiming to make the first ever upper intercooler pipe. Settle down and stop being rude.

ability to mate it with different intakes and IC will be the biggest thing. Offering a UICP that is for relocated or smaller batteries is not a bad idea.

How about make a BOV/DV that fits the stock piping?

I'd never buy IC pipes unless they are short routed - which requires a small battery. Keeping a large battery is pointless, and minimizes the effect of upgraded IC pipes.

he's just asking a question..nothing wrong with that....there are people who dont want a small battery..all about preference

but to the op.....why not offer both, a pipe for small and regular sized batteries.

hard part will be getting it into rotation with all of the already tested and prooven solutions all about the forum...

maybe you want to start on evo x!

That was great. I owe you a beer.

Most valves suck and if yours is as good as people say then you shouldn't have a problem. You will have more short route pipe requests though. People are definitely still in the market for these parts. Just make it reasonable on prices and you should have no problem being competitive against some of the more expensive guys that think their **** doesn't stink.

If we put this together, we'll probably do an entire setup with an intake pipe, push-connect fitttings, air filter, etc.

The goal is really so that everyone that wants our BOV doesn't have to worry about fittment, or how it is flanged up, etc. Some IC pipe kits that are flanged up for Greddy BOVs can't rotate the BOV once installed, so that's a problem for our customer base.

You're right for the most part on this one. We spend so much time just doing development on our BOV that we only now have the time to put together the no brainer stuff like piping. BOVs and wastegates aren't like pipes, you can't just put one together and call it the day, so it involves all of your time and resources to develop.

Make one with a "no battery option( battery in the trunk)", and make it so that there is no right angle at the throttle body.
