Check engine light

can someone tell me how to turn the check engine light off. 2003 VIII. I have a plugin for resetting error codes but it does not work for resetting the check engine light

disconnect negative to battery for a few minutes maybe.

Go to your local auto parts store and check out their OBD-II scanner. Read what the codes are and then reset them from the tool.

Autozone for free, or if you have tactrix cable you can use EVOscan or OBDII software to scan and reset codes...

If you erase the codes the cel will erase too unless it came back. What scanner do you have?

true, but at autozone the are not allowed to delete the codes. it will comeback either way though even if you do erase it. i would just find out what codes are being thrown, then work on getting them fixed

I wouldnt care ..
I save 1 trip to dealer yesterday read it from somewhere
hopeful my SES wont comes on again , coz I have battery back up type alarm ,
if i disconnect battery , it will make noise

it works for me only , =P
