10psi. . . 15psi . . . then works fine???

alrighty well that is what it is doing. obviously my car has a mind of its own. this started a few weeks back. . . so here it goes.

i notice i dropped to 15psi and tappering to 12psi. . . also i kinda bad idle everyonce and awhile.

so i looked around, and found my small line running from the bov had a nice crack in it( oh btwi have a type s BOV (recirculating) and it was making a sound like it was in the "hard" position)) anyways i replace that line and what happens??? hear is where my car gets a mind of its own. . . .

alrighty well in any gearif i go WOT it will get "stuck" at 10-11psi. then when i shift into the next gear, it will go up to 15psi, same with the gear after that.

BUT then sometimes it works just fine spikes 22psitapers abit and im on a role. . . like i said i really dont know what it is.. . . i just think my car has a mind of its own

Any suggestions

Clean out the MBC...it has a bleed hole....make sure its not clogged.

Also do a boost leak test.

Every turbo car owner should be doing boost leak tests as regular maintainence
Even minor ones can cause drivability issues , also if you continue to have issues with your boost like that you shouldnt be driving it till its fixed, you could be detonating and not even know it.

Hi everyone,

i am having the same problem as xXBadAndyXx.. however when i set up my MBC at 20psi it leaks upto 10psi. i looked under the hood and i noticed the BOV dropping oil?! assuming the turbo is dead? after a speed of 120KMH i see white/bluesh smoke from the rear but not from the exhaust, i assume the turbo leaks oil and drops on the downpipe.

any solution? or i have to replace the turbo?

Thanks,
Mohammed

I see a lot of evo's with boost controllers hooked up wrong. Many people disconnect the factory vacumm lines from the factory solenoid and basically plug in the new boost controller. You will have problems like the ones you speak of doing it this way. The correct way to install a boost controller is to have the controller between the vacuum/boost source and wastegate/actuator. The factory lines come together off the actuator and turbo outlet. Not going to work. One vacuum line from the actuator to the proper nipple on the BC and the other from manifold pressure/ turbo outlet to the other nipple. Caps will be used on the intake pipe and factory solenoid to pervent dirt from damaging it if you want to go back to stock.
