Thanks Coolguy...now I hope I am not rehashing this but......is it only the Greddy that can be used with this speedo safety hookup or can all timers be used once you have the Greddy harness?

the HKS has a wire that comes out of the timer itself for the speedo, and then two other wires for RPM signal and e-brake sensor. When using a GReddy harness on an HKS timer, you dont use the speedo wire on the harnesss, you use the one that comes out of the timer itself. I'll try to find some pics of what i'm talking about...

i think you all are a bit toooo worried about the safety thing....

even if someone did try to drive away...they couldn't get very far within a minute or a minute and a half...which is the max mine has been when taking out my key....and look at it this way....by the time they break in the motor will prolly be off...

at the same time...not many people know what a turbo timer is...if they did they definetly wouldn't be trying to steal the car...knowing it will shut off soon....at the same time...if they didn't...i think they would be a bit confused why the car is running with no keys in the first place....

i have played that joke on all my friends...ha ha

The second you put the parking brake down, the timer will turn off. I've turned off my car and noticed I wasn't far enough in my garage and wanted to creep forward. The second I put the e-brake down the whole thing shuts off. You need to put the key back in to the ON position then pull down the e-brake.

another good thing about the TT is that during the winter time, you can go out, start your car, set the timer for...maybe 9 minutes, go back in the house, when you get back out, nice and toasty.

Next best thing to an autostart. Thank God I won't have to leave my keys in my running car during the winter.

Relax about the speedo thing. When you pull your keys, your steering column locks. Cut the wheels all the way to one side or the other and then shut down. They might take your car, but they will only be driving in circles. If they get in the door, break the column lock, and bypass the immobilizer key...then they are going to probably have no problem bypassing a turbo timer.
