Post Weird Tranny/Clutch Issue

I have an 03 evolution gsr.

It has some basic bolt on mods.

Purchased from here:
http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...lASC&cardist=0

The claim is that it has an ACT clutch but I dont think it does... anyway....

I think my clutch is slipping or going bad. What happens is that the clutch will hold boost and heavy throttle but right when i let off the gas and press the clutch, my rpms continue to rise for a second as if the clutch is slipping or not disengaging or something. I have to wait a split second for the rpms to come down before I shift or else I will grind the gear.

This on happens when I drive fast or put the foot down on the gas. Everything is fine during normal cruisin... anyone have any ideas?

Need help asap.

If your clutch is slipping once you floor it and the rpm jumps up then back down then its your clutch.

It will hold under the acceleration, it only jumps up once I get ready to shift.

Other than that, I can go from 3k all way too 7.5k no problem with the gas all the way down.

are you sure you're timing everything right. it sounds to me like you're either not letting off the gas quick enough or you have an issue with your throttle cable

look under the hood, pop off on one the plastic things on the tranny and if the clutch is yellow, its act.

If it's throttle hang, do a boost leak test. Check and see if you're throttle body seals are leaking.

I have the same issue, and i thought it was the clutch so I replaced my ACT street clutch with a clutchmasters stage 3 w flywheel and it still has throttle hang and the shifting is still sloppy and the Rpm still hangs a little bit. So then I got a short throw with all the bushings and its still the same. im going to try the boost leak test to see if that may be it. Im just saying it seems like we are having the same exact prob. I just wanted to give you the heads up on the stuff i have tried so far. If you find out what it is please let me know.

Throttle hang is normal i get on my evo 9 too did it from day one and my friend's e55amg,does it and his 300 hemi srt too this is normal, but as far as your clutch is concerned it's diiferently time to replace the so called act clutch,if i was you i would you go back to the dealer and tell them to fix it if not tell them you taking them to small claim's court aka lemon law.

Well part of it may have been that heavy right foot. I guess I wasnt coming off the gas quick enough. It still acts up from time to time but not nearly as much as it was. However fourth gear still grinds... even when there is not any "throttle hang." I never did get a chance to check the clutch but I might do that when I get a chance.

I'll let you guys know what happens. If it starts to act up again, Ill have to try changing the seals on the TB and investigating what clutch I actually have.

I'm more worried about fourth gear. If I'm going fast @ high rpms, I have to really baby it to get it into gear or else it will grind.

How exactly do I do this?

The car still has rpm lock out. Ive gotten on it pretty hard the last couple days and the throttle hang is keeping me from making quick shifts. The clutch is not slipping.

Ill be glad to try this if you teach me how
