ACT Clutch Poll!!!
It's not heavier than stock. What is this comment about?
Also these polls are ridiculous. IHUNTV8 gives negative review for 9 of the ACT clutches. Has he really used all 9 models? I would think if I had 1 negative experience I would not repeat it 9 times ... ha ha.

I just bought my evo 3 months ago, knew the previous owner of the car who had it for the past year and 10-15k. ACT HDSS peformed better than expected. Never had an issue with lock out, only a 4th gear grind above 6,500 rpm, but I think it's due to a worn syncro. I pulled the clutch last month when I pulled the tranny for inspection. It's trashed and I need a new clutch. I'm hesitant to put a new ACT in there. Last thing I want is end up with lock out.
stock started slipping at 15K (went to track a lot)
act hdss with resurfaced flywheel
pedal noticeably stiffer.. Hold the power.
the bads
from around the time of install i have noticed i cant shift into 5th without letting the rpms fall some.
I also get high rpm (full throttle) lockout (like a pause in between shifts) pretty much only when racing which has made my 1/4 mile times horrible. adjustment of clutch pedal didnt' help none.
this is with stock clutchline also.
exedy twin sitting in garage, goign to pull the tranny and send it to shep for service... and i'm never goign to look back.

Installed the ACT HDSS myself with GruppeS flywheel a couple months ago. Completed first track day a couple of weeks ago. Easy shifting on track, and no lockout. laps consist of full throttle shifts from 4 to 5, but I have a 6 speed. MR.
In general you tend to go for smooth shifts on track compared to fast shifts on the drag strip though.
Clutch a bit heavy, but nothing unreasonable for something that can hold the power easily. Way more clamping power than the car is producing grunt. For now.
However, I come from the Suby world of glass syncros, so I tend to be pretty patient and smooth shifting comparatively.
My stocker was gone at 10k, fyi.
