AMSOIL has the filters assembled for them by several companies from components supplied by AMSOIL.

Also what is true, You will always have someone who knows just enough to be dangerous and tries to instill on others their limited knowledge on a subject, most of which is Myth, Hearsay or they dug up on Wikipedia which is one of the worst places to get any information, much les factual information.

Many tests are performed by Third Parties, and always conform to Industry Test Procedures. Unlike the phony baloney "tests" performed on national television such as the "One Armed Bandit" oil test, or the BS of running an engine without oil.

But look at how many people believe them instead of Certified Tests...

Maybe others are close minded enough to not be able to read between the lines, but I would believe a test performed by someone like Bob the Oil guy, who has ZERO vested interest in a product, WAY before I would believe one performed by a company like donaldson who makes one of the filters being tested. Thats just nuts.

I especially wouldn't believe a vendor telling me EVERYTHING is inferior to what they sell when there is creditable data out there from NON-biased sources saying exactly the opposite. Sorry Oildoc, but in my eye's you've lost all creditability with that stunt.

I'm with you Always. I have never seen comparative test results from someone with a vested interest that didn't make their product look over-the-top good. And I've never seen those same dramatic differences between products when conducted by independents just looking for the heck of it.

So don't buy the filter then. Has Bob the Oil guy even tested this Amsoil air filter or has he just tested the old Amsoil foam filter? Anyway, this is all besides the point as the test I'm performing is designed only to show power gains/losses compared to other air filters; not how well it filters.

Thank you again to Doc for supplying me with a filter to use in this test; thats more than any other air filter vendor/manufactuer has done to make this test happen!

Well please let me know how BITOG tested these filters.. I am way curious on that... Because, as far as I know, the only thing on that site is about AMSOIL Foam filters which haven't been made in years...

AGAIN.... The Donaldson tests were performed by a Third Party... NOT performed by Donaldson or AMSOIL..

I can tell by your writings that you have no idea that Donaldson is at the Forefront of Filter technology. The Government needed filters to keep the ground equipment going in the Desert Sands and was looking to ANY company that could come up with the best filter. Donaldson did and had to have it tested and then Patented the process.

But heck.. Maybe the Defense Department, Caterpillar, Kenworth, Peterbilt. Boeing Jets and Agricultural and Construction equpment from Lawn Mowers to the biggest Construction Equipment.. Maybe they are all wrong and You and BITOG are right...

Yep, if I were you, that is where I would get ALL my information from.. BITOG... just like getting info from Wikipedia.. real Credible LOL

I have been doing this for over 35 years... please come up with something better than BITOG...

everyone knows those contracts for parts, supplies and services go to the LOWEST bidder. I did procurement for a Government contractor for about 6 years. They have a 'spec' for everything, as long as a product or service meets the engineers 'spec' for that application the contract always goes to the lowest bidder, PERIOD!

Don't kid yourself that it has anything to do with quality because the two (cost and quality) are not related.

Oil Doc this isn't about your filters, it never has been. Its about presenting un-baised data. You've already said that Donaldson performed the test we are talking about, I've quoted you exactly what I'm referring too. Now you're saying it was performed by a third party. That just further proves my point.

to the OP, I'm sorry this has gotten a little off-topic. I'm done posing in this thread, I think an educated EVOM member can make up their own mind as to what to believe. I believe your test will be unbiased as you have no interest other then finding the best performing filter according to your tests. I'm looking forward to reading your results.

Don't forget, the testing is taking place tomorrow! I will be making a new results thread to help keep the info as easy to find as possible but I will be posting that link here.
