One thing I'd like to ask is about noise levels, maybe no one cares about that but I just added a Perrin and it is really loud booth on boost and BOV operation. I wonder if the Vibrant and the KN are that loud...

 

That noise is half the reason I got an Evo!

 

All open intakes on turbo cars are that loud.

 

OK, I thought it might be the case, I am used to NA cars so when I got rid of the stock airbox I was just really surprised at the loud noise on acceleration, not so much the BOV, I have heard those before but the loud sucking noise that was super obvious even in the cabin kinda took me off guard.

All open filter intakes will produce about the same noise level. I personally love the added sounds of an open intake

 

I know that most of the open's do sound the same, even though on NA cars, there was a slight change in "pitch" from filter material changes (K&N to foam for example) even if overall dB level was about the same.

 

Reminds me of the days when we use to flip the air cleaner cover over...

Did you ever get an Amsoil filter test? I bought one last week.... I love the look, quality, and size..... it fits prefect where I want it to fit!

Now Im interested in the performance!!
