ACT all the way ..... i have an act iin my car dont know exactly what but its a 6 puck and it feels moderate to stiff and grabs and hold great. I dont see what everybody says about ACT and how they suck i would recommend and when i upgrade to a better one im going back with ACT.

Had trouble going into reverse and also had a hard time shifting at some points. It was installed professionally.

Wow... take a lunch break and look what happens... Thanks for all the feedback.

Still doing research, but finding it hard to justify the extra $$ for the Exedy, and the rebuild costs are night and day. It's hard to ignore all of the enthusiasm people seem to have for it though.

Fidanza 3.2 would be a very sound choice, I have one and love mine, I'm running with it the lightened flywheel. Exedy I've heard are having some difficulties mechanically.
Was thinking of that as well, but have heard that engagement isn't the best for street? Haven't heard of the Exedy issues. Care to elaborate?

Was also thinking of the ACT G6 disc instead of the SS. The lockout issue seem to be confined mainly to the SS disc? Seems, though, like a lot of the lockout issues could be from bad install or clutch adjustment, so maybe the issue's overblown?

go to stmdsm.com for the clutch install... they are located in rochester.
Just heard of them lately. I'll check them out. Thanks. On a side note, I had originally planned on going to Performance Auto in Webster, who recently did my timing belt. They handle everything from Bentley's to Ferrari's to Camry's so you'd think they know what they're doing, but, of course, an EVO is none of those. Anybody here ever have any experience with them? (Long shot, I know)

I was also thinking about possibly doing the job myself. I used to work on my old integra a fair amount, have worked a little on the EVO, generally consider myself mechanically inclined, and have air tools, etc. Bad idea?

Finally, what else should I be doing while I'm at it? Clutch lines? Bushings? Will I save $$ doing it all at once or would these be things I could do myself after the fact?

Thanks again for all of the advice....

Just do it right the first time, get the exedy twin hd, it comes with every thing you need plus it is rebuildable. I would put one on a stock car

The 3.2 from Fidanza is very simliar to the OEM clutch. I almost wish i had the 4.3 Fidanza. My Evo is used most of the time as my daily driver with all 100% city driving and i wouldn't hesitate putting another in down the road.
