Probably going to install GSC S1 cams myself, limp to the dyno?

I am going AMS stage 3. I live about an hour away from AMS. I want to save money by doing the install myself, and I do my own work anyways. My question is, with the GSC S1 cams, will I be ok if I stay off boost and limp to their shop? Thanks for any help guys.

yeah, I drove a couple hours to get tuned after having them installed. Just stay out of boost to be safe...

You can drive around and boost all you want and it'll be fine, your tune just won't be ideal. Just be sure to follow the cam initial start and break in procedures.

^ Rev up the engine to 3000 RPM slowly (approx. 15 sec.) several times until the lash adjusters are full. Then start tuning.

you will be fine. just make sure the cams go in the right way and timing is good. bleed your lifters and do the auto lash adjusters as mentioned above. rev up to 3000 and hold it there for 15 seconds and then let it idle for 15 seconds. repeat this process a couple of times till the ticking stops.
