Turbo XS 3" Downpipe

This is the worst part that I have purchsed in 8+ years of being into DSM's and Evo's. It required trimming of the flange that meets up to the O2 housing so that the lip of the flange wouldn't press into the ears of the O2 housing. It needed a 1/2" dent to clear the oil pan and still risked rubbing. The hanger on the passengers side did not hang on the rubber bushing and instead pushed into the hanger loop welded to the car. One of the ACD bolts was 1/16" away so I had to give it another whack with a hammer to clear that. I didn't have long enough bolts on hand to use washers to space down the lower subframe tie bars. Any other piece I've seen installed on the evo didn't need spacers and if it did only required 2 which didn't negate longer bolts. Then it was 1/2" short bolting up to the catback.

After 8 hours of trying I gave up and put the stock downpipe back on and everything was perfect. This is a warning, save your time and money and buy a quality piece instead of this hack job.

Turbo XS wanted me to send it back to where I bought it. The shop I got it from is no longer in business. I then wrote them an email and I haven't received a reply yet.

I too had exactly the very same problems. It's not very well designed, to say something, but that's been discused a thousand times over here! Respect Chinaman...

I called, the person on the phone insisted that you need a special donut gasket that goes onto the O2 housing. I'm not sure how this is going to make up the 1/2" it is short to meeting up to the stock cat so I'm just cutting my losses at this point instead of spending another frustrating day under the car on this.

I will admit its not the best piece out there BUT, I have the whoel turbo back on the car and it fits fine. There is proprietary hardware that comes with the Turbo XS Downpipe. The donut gasket is different then stock and so are the bolts that hook it up. with those installed it will not have clearance issues. Again, mayb enot the greatest, but it works and the pricfe was right when I got it. BTW I have had it installed with the stock and aftermarket 02 housing. with the stock piece it was perfect. with the aftermarket piece i had to use a washer or two to make it perfect.

The donut gasket I can *kinda* understand. Not totally but *kinda*. Still, unless the hardware included a 1/2" spacer to bolt up to the *STOCK* catback it wasn't going to fit. I had a friend push on the exhaust from the rear of the car to help me try to bolt it up it was so bad.

Secondly without the donut gasket it was already on my lower tie bars. The extra drop the donut gasket would have given it would have caused a severe issue with the tie bars. I want to keep those tie bars because as much as I like going fast in a straight line, I also like to turn as well.

Looks like its a Buschur part for me next go around.

Maybe it's the ACD? MY whole TXS turboback fit perfectly, it came with it's own bigger donut, bolts and springs, and everything fit perfect without coming close to rubbing.. I have an 03 though...??!?

turboxs installation is very touchy but it sounds like you may not have been using ALL their included hardware correctly. i've installed turboxs DP on an 03 and 06 evo. both fit with alittle adjustment, fit great. you have to make sure to use all the spacers for the tie bar as well as getting turboxs donut gasket to sit perfectly with the o2 housing. alittle off and it fits funny.

+1. you need to use ALL of the hardware. there are spacers to lower the tie bars.(almost every DP I have seen has come with these) the bolts and the sleeves that come with them also need to be used. it all fits. It might take a little adjustment to make it fit "better" but it all works. I have had it for 2 years with no problems. sorry to hear you struggle this much
